ConocoPhillips Alaska Workplace Campaign Contributes $200,000 of support to Food Bank of Alaska

Currently, 106,000 Alaskans—including one in five children—are experiencing food insecurity. Due to ongoing economic challenges, the effects of the government shutdown, and continued recovery efforts in Western Alaska, Food Bank of Alaska is witnessing an unprecedented increase in demand for its services.

Through its annual workplace food drive, ConocoPhillips Alaska employees raised $175,000 between employee contributions and company match, including 2,100 cases (57,000 lbs) of water for families impacted by recent storms in Western Alaska. To further strengthen relief and recovery efforts, ConocoPhillips Alaska is contributing an additional $25,000 to Food Bank of Alaska, bringing their total support to $200,000.

This annual employee-driven campaign is one of Alaska’s most impactful food drives and is amongst the largest of its kind in the United States.

"This support could not come at a more critical time," said Cara Durr, Chief Executive Officer of Food Bank of Alaska. "Food insecurity in Alaska is at its highest since the pandemic, worsened by recent events like Typhoon Halong and the government shutdown. Thanks to the generosity of ConocoPhillips Alaska and their employees, we’re better equipped to meet growing needs statewide. We’re deeply grateful for their continued commitment to fighting hunger."

“Our employees are proud supporters of Food Bank of Alaska’s mission to nourish our friends and neighbors across the state,” said Erec Isaacson, President of ConocoPhillips Alaska. “Year after year, they step forward with unwavering enthusiasm to ensure this food drive makes a meaningful difference in the communities where we live and work.”
