Volunteer Spotlight: Karen Burnett

If you’ve ever dropped off a food drive donation and wondered where it ends up, chances are Karen had a hand in it.

Karen Burnett is one of our longtime sort room volunteers. She shows up every day, rain or shine, and quietly keeps everything moving. From checking expiration dates to stocking shelves for our agency partners, Karen helps make sure donated food is safe and ready to go where it's needed most.

She’s not just reliable. She’s the kind of person who says yes to anything, including last-minute interviews with the press. Karen steps up, pitches in, and makes this work feel possible.

We’re proud to celebrate her in this special story filmed by Ariane Aramburo and Alaska’s News Source. Watch how Karen starts her mornings and see what volunteer dedication looks like in action.

🤎 Thank you, Karen, for helping fuel hope one sorted can at a time.
