Food Bank of Alaska is proud to announce a generous $40,000 donation from Crowley Fuels Alaska this month, nearly doubling their major gift from last year.

Crowley’s investment will help provide an estimated 80,000 meals for families across Alaska. Their support will also power our Hunger Action Month matching campaign this fall, encouraging others to give and accelerate the impact. In September, Crowley Fuels Alaska has issued a challenge for donors with a $10,000 match gift, as our Hunger Action Month sponsor.

Strong communities feed each other, and Crowley is a powerful example of what that looks like in action,” said Cara Durr, CEO of Food Bank of Alaska. “Their team shows up with heart and hustle, and they are helping us respond to the rising need across the state.”

In the past year, Crowley has:
  • Sponsored the We Believe luncheon in April
  • Volunteered with our team at Food Bank of Alaska’s Anchorage warehouse
  • Hosted employee engagement events supporting hunger relief
  • Organized a spring plant sale that raised enough to provide more than 3,400 meals

At a time of increasing economic pressures, food insecurity continues to rise, with 1 in 7 families facing food insecurity in our state. This is the kind of leadership we need more than ever and we’re incredibly grateful to Crowley for their partnership”, said Daniel Bentle, Chief Philanthropy Officer at Food Bank of Alaska.

At Crowley, we believe strong communities are built when we take care of one another.”, said Kollin Fencil, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Crowley Fuels. “Partnering with Food Bank of Alaska allows us to help families across the state access the meals they need, and we’re proud to stand alongside so many others working to fight hunger in Alaska.”

Hunger ends when we act together.
